Above the Skyline is a bandfrom South Florida playing rock originals and covers with diverse musical backgrounds and influences. The band prides itself on being different but yet produces a sound that everyone can love and listen to with ease. They have a great fusion of styles and influences that are as unique as these talented musicians are. Three of the founding members were born and raised in Homestead, Florida. Chloe our drummer and Eric our guitarist met at Homestead’s Music Depot’s Rock Ensemble in 2004 and have been playing together ever since. Zach, vocals/keyboard came on board in 2013, followed by Alec on Bass and Peach on vocals.

Guadalupe Arciniega is a Mexican Regional {Banda, Norteño, Mariachi} music artist who began her singing career at a Young age and has continued performing and recording through her life. She has proudly been representing her Mexican roots through her various performances. Her most recent work “Raíces y Sentimiento de México”, (Roots and Sentiment of México) concert which includes Mariachi and Mexican Folk dancers is a delight. It transports you to the beginning of the mariachi songs and continues to the present. Guadalupe’s melodious voice singing rancheras, corridos, ranchera ballads, with the traditional Mariachi band the Aztec dancers with their beautiful feather costumes and the folk dancers wearing their colorful wardrobe dancing to the sound of Jalisco sones, will transport you and give you the feeling and excitement of being in a Mexican fiesta..

South Florida is preparing for an alien invasion this summer! The Seminole Theatre, in partnership with WLRN Radio Theatre and Arts Radio Network Theatre Project, presents a pair of popular science fiction stories brought to life on stage, sure to thrill science fiction lovers of all ages!
These performances are accurate recreations of the live radio plays from the golden age of radio, with professional actors performing multiple roles and utilizing authentic sound effect devices. These plays are very interactive, with the audience providing many of the sound effects themselves! Each event will include a post-show Talk back session, where the audience can ask questions about the play, its history and the production. In addition, our friends at the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium are providing us with Science Fiction vs. Science Facts for each show program, written by their expert education team. They’re sure to spark your curiosity!
Plan 9 from Outer Space tells the story of extraterrestrials who are seeking to stop humanity from creating a doomsday weapon that could destroy the universe. The aliens implement “Plan 9”, a scheme to resurrect the Earth’s dead, referred to as ” ghouls”. By causing chaos, the aliens hope the crisis will force humanity to listen to them. If not, the aliens will then destroy mankind with armies of the undead.
Plan 9 from Outer Space played on television in relative obscurity until 1980, when authors Harry and Michael Medved dubbed the film the “worst movie ever made”. Both Wood and his film were posthumously awarded two of Medveds’ Golden Turkey Awards, as the Worst Director Ever and Worst Film, respectively.

On Sunday, October 30, 1938 millions of radio listeners were shocked when radio news alerts announced the arrival of Martians. They panicked when they learned the Martians’ ferocious and seemingly unstoppable attack on Earth. Many ran out of their homes screaming while others packed up their cars and fled.
Though what the radio listeners heard was a portion of the Mercury Theatre on the Air production of Orson Welles” adaptation of the well-known book,War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells, many of the listeners believed what they heard on the radio was real. WRLN Radio Theatre brings the original script back to life, reimagined and live at the Seminole Theatre!

Flying Solo II-UK offers “Manicomio” written and performed by Allyn Moriyon about the Italian playwright Luigi Pirandello, “Geli and Uncle Alf” written by Pia Vicioso-Vila about Hitler’s first niece and love, Geli Raubal and “Warmth of the Sun” written and performed by Erik Rodriguez, about the life of Brian Wilson, member of the 60s Beach Boys. Following ots Homestead performance this show will travel to the UK where I will tour three cities The project not only offers a series of self-written and acted solo performance works. Through a collaboration with social agencies in the US and UK WIW will offer free, three-day workshops for low-income “at risk” youth in which the experience of the solo performance process and the exploration of other lives will lead to the awareness of deeper selfhood. For Homestead youth WIW is partnering with the Homestead Public Library and Miami Bridge.
