Thank you to all who auditioned.  The  callback list is below.  Please read through these directions if you have been called back.

Callbacks are Friday, October 12, from 7pm to 10pm at the Seminole Theatre.

You will be asked to read sides from the show and we ask that all of you please double check, and reconfirm, all potential conflicts, if any. You may be asked to sing a standard Christmas Carol (Joy to the World – acapella) as a group, so please be familiar with the first verse, and tune, of the song. The words have been provided below.

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!

To those of you that are not on this list, please do not get discouraged! There were over 100 excellent actors and actresses that came out for auditions, and narrowing down to this list was very difficult for myself and my production team. We hope, that as the Seminole Theatre Players continues to grow, that we see you come audition for our future productions! Thank you very much for coming to auditions!

A Christmas Carol Cast List 2018

Congratulations to all those cast in this year’s production of A Christmas Carol.

Seminole Theatre Players Presents

Thank you again to all who auditioned.  We had over 100 people audition and could only cast 27 in the show.  Needless to say, there are a lot of talented actors that are not in this year’s production, but we sincerely hope that you will continue to audition for future shows.

The full cast list is below. Congratulations to all who were cast.  

Rehearsals will begin on the 16th of October at 7pm at the Seminole Theatre.  You will be hearing from our stage manager, Janice Arguello, with the full schedule and other details.

Dance Director – Camp Seminole

June 10, 2019 – July 19, 2019

A six-week intensive camp. Campers will learn how to become a triple threat (actor, singer, dancer) from industry professionals and specialists with a focus on scene study, choreography, vocal training and song interpretation. In addition, campers will learn the ins and outs of auditions, theater production, and rehearsal preparation All leading toward their own musical theater showcase, presented on the Seminole Theatre stage for family and friends.

Dance Director Responsibilities

The Director will be choreographing dance numbers for the final showcase and guide campers through learning and assist them with activities in other classes. Counselors are responsible for a group of approx. 15-20 campers, accompanying them to and from classes and meals, and providing support throughout the day.

• Five-day work week – Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Accompany campers to all classes, providing oversight of campers as well as individual attention and guidance.
• Participate and oversee campers as directed on field trips.
• Attend occasional Camp Seminole Staff meetings after camp hours.
• Monitor campers’ behavior and act as a liaison between campers, faculty members, and Camp Seminole Director.

• Teach during rehearsals as determined by Camp Director.
• Voluntarily participate in the background checks required for employment including but not limited to federal and sex offender checks and fingerprinting
• Attend a mandatory staff orientation.
• Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
• Ability to communicate dance concepts through demonstration and verbal explanations.
• Experience in the performing arts disciplines of either music, theater or dance preferred.
• Excellent leadership skills including an ability to command respect and motivate achievement while working effectively with young people.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well to a diverse population, and work as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks with completing deadlines in a self-directed, prioritized and calm manner.
• Flexibility to meet changing needs and priorities as they occur.
• Minimum of 1 school year of dance training in a college or professional setting
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Have a strong work ethic, be proactive and take initiative.

*Must be 18 + and available to start  June 3, 2019.

Musical Theatre Director Responsibilities

The Musical Theatre Director will be responsible for teaching both acting and vocal training to campers. Responsibilities include:

• Teaching music classes. The curriculum is flexible, but suggestions are a basic theory, sight singing, performing group songs from musicals, musical interpretation, coaching individual songs, basic singing techniques, musical theatre history, and rehearsing the music from our end-of-camp production.
• Musically directing the end-of-camp production.
• Printing and preparing sheet music.
• Know and understands the art of acting and performing.
• Devise acting activities, games, and practice exercises in order to improve student skills.
• Devise and lead students in improv games and exercises.
• Teach techniques that students can utilize to improve their acting ability.

We had a lot of very talented people audition for ANNIE, and the cast decision took longer than expected because the decisions were so difficult to make.   We want to thank every single person who came out.   Even if you were not cast in ANNIE, we hope you will audition for future productions with the Seminole Theatre Players.  Every show has different cast requirements.

We had an extremely overwhelming amount of people come to audition for this summer’s productions.  We wish we could cast everyone, but unfortunately there is only so much room on stage.  Even if you did not make it into one of these shows, we hope that you will come back and audition for future shows.  We would love to see you on stage.

Cast List for IN THE HEIGHTS have been posted.  Thanks to everyone who auditioned.

We had an amazing turnout at our auditions for IN THE HEIGHTS.   We want to thank every single person who came out. This ended up being much more challenging to cast that we expected because the talent levels were all so close.  We actually expanded the cast to include more people than intended, but there are still many more people that we wish we could have cast.  

Please remember that you can still audition for our Production of Annie.  All roles in Annie are open and it will be color blind casting.

STP Announces 2018 Summer Season

The Friends of the Seminole Theatre and the Seminole Theatre Players are proud to announce the 2018 Summer Season.

After the success of last summer’s sold-out production of Hairspray, co-produced with the experienced Ginsberg Productions, the Seminole Theatre Players have been deternined to bring more community theater to the area.  This summer’s line-up includes two shows with very different genres, sure to please everyone.

ANNIE: Auditions April 24-26, Performance July 27-August 5

With the help of the other girls in the Orphanage, Annie escapes to the wondrous world of NYC. In adventure after fun-filled adventure, Annie foils Miss Hannigan’s evil machinations… and even befriends President Franklin Delano Roosevelt! She finds a new home and family in billionaire, Oliver Warbucks, his personal secretary, Grace Farrell, and a lovable mutt named Sandy.
