Coppelia is a fun comic story Ballet for all ages. It is set in a small village in Poland at the end of the 18th Century. It is about Dr. Coppelius, a doll maker and his mysterious daughter (a doll) Coppelia who cause a fight between Suanhilda a beautiful peasant girl who is engaged to marry Franz. Franz sees this beautiful girl (the doll) and falls in love with her. Swanhilda, jealous sneaks into Dr. Coppelius’ house with her friends and they realize she is a doll. Franz appears, but Suanhilda decides to dress up as Coppelia. Dr. Coppelius returns and sees Franz in his house. He offers him beer, gets him drunk and knocks him out. Dr. Coppelius takes his soul and puts it into Coppelias. Dr. Coppelius is fooled by Suanhilda and thinks his mechanical doll has come to life, but the lovers are reunited and Dr. Coppelius is very sad. The following day the couple is married and everyone celebrates the wedding. Even Dr. Coppelius.
Ballet&Beyond is a ballet Academy where each dancer is introduced from a very young age to the proper classical ballet technique in a loving environment. Small individualized classes have gotten our students into prestigious summer programs and into the finals of competitions such as YAGP and UBC.

Ebenezer Scrooge, a miserly, cold-hearted creditor, continues his stingy, greedy ways on Christmas Eve. He rejects a Christmas dinner invitation, and all the good tidings of the holiday, from his jolly nephew, Fred; he yells at charity workers; and he overworks his employee, Bob Cratchit. At night, Scrooge’s former partner Jacob Marley, dead for seven years, visits him in the form of a ghost. Marley’s spirit has been wandering since he died as punishment for being consumed with business and not with people while alive. He has come to warn Scrooge and perhaps save him from the same fate. He tells him Three Spirits will come to him over the next three nights

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film’s Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by Menken and Schwartz. Peter Parnell’s new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Hugo’s gothic novel.
The musical begins as the bells of Notre Dame sound through the famed cathedral in fifteenth-century Paris. Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer who longs to be “Out There,” observes all of Paris reveling in the Feast of Fools. Held captive by his devious caretaker, the archdeacon Dom Claude Frollo, he escapes for the day and joins the boisterous crowd, only to be treated cruelly by all but the beautiful Romani woman, Esmeralda. Quasimodo isn’t the only one captivated by her free spirit, though – the handsome Captain Phoebus and Frollo are equally enthralled. As the three vie for her attention, Frollo embarks on a mission to destroy the Roma – and it’s up to Quasimodo to save them all.
A sweeping score and powerful story make The Hunchback of Notre Dame an instant classic. Audiences will be swept away by the magic of this truly unforgettable musical.

Luisa Fernanda presented by La Zarzuela! September 18th, 7PM September 19th, 3PM
La Zarzuela, Inc. presents Luisa Fernanda, a Spanish romantic zarzuela in three acts by Federico Moreno Torroba. The characters move between comedy and revolutionary politics featuring the simplicity of the Spanish countryside and the contrasting sophisticated class in Madrid of the nineteenth century on the verge of a revolutionary change of its political landscape. The libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández Shaw could be described as a romantic comedy with a near-tragic touch of melancholy. A masterpiece of its own kind.
Luisa Fernanda, a young girl living in 1868 during Queen Isabel II regime, is in love with Javier, a colonel in the royal hussars. She is also courted by the rich landowner Vidal Hernando. Javier’s nonchalant attitude towards Luisa and his flirting with Duchess Carolina leave the door open to Vidal Hernando in Luisa Fernanda’s heart. Despite Vidal Hernando’s royalists’ inclinations, his strong devotion for Luisa may lead him to make war against the crown.
La Zarzuela, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3 Florida nonprofit organization whose mission is to preserve, Passion, War, and Comedy in a Spanish romantic zarzuela with a near tragic touch of melancholy set in the Madrid of the nineteenth century on the verge of revolution.
El Festival de Teatro de Homestead es un certamen cultural que tiene como propuesta inicial, suceder en Septiembre de 2019 gracias a la Fundación Ruta Teatral, convocando a 4 maravillosas compañías del Teatro local del sur de la Florida. Un evento artístico, que en tres días de presentaciones, busca ser parte de una amplia gama de actividades culturales, programas y eventos que ofrezcan a los residentes de Homestead una oportunidad de entretenimiento y enriquecimiento de la vida comunitaria.
