“THE MAN WHO INVENTED CHRISTMAS” by Les Standiford

2020 - the year of the pandemic and shelter-in-place. The turned upside down with remote living  and working. As we slowly move out from under that moment in history What if Works, with  the support of the Homestead Center for the Arts, invites you to join actors and director in person for a unique screening of a costumed stage reading of Les Standiford’s “The Man Who  Invented Christmas.” recorded remotely with the author providing the narration of the stage  directions.

First published as a book in 2008, a 2018 adaptation for film featured Christopher Plummer as  Scrooge. Now the book is adapted into a stage play. Recorded with all actors in remote and  skillfully edited with specific Dickensian locations by Paul Steinsland.

Don’t miss this unique theatre event at the Seminole Theatre as we witness Charles Dickens and  the struggles he endured during a similar time of excessive restriction while forging his most beloved story, “A Christmas Carol”.
