Laugh It Up is about bringing something different, something more fun and exciting for the people of Homestead to enjoy. Comedy is something that everyone loves, we love making people laugh and that’s what we will do on July 8th.
Some of South Florida’s funniest comedians will be in the building for everyone to enjoy and have a good night out!

This show will have you holding on to your stomach. Come hear these outrageously hilarious stories from all of the comedians, theres never a dull moment watching these comedians do what they do best!

On Wednesday, June 7th from 6-8 pm, the Seminole Theatre located at 18 N. Krome Avenue will host Mayor Jeff Porter’s 2017 State of the City Address: Together We Rise. The short film will showcase the milestone accomplishments of the past year and provide an update on future projects for Downtown Homestead.

The City of Corona will be hosting the Mayor’s Annual State of the City Address on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 6 p.m. in the Corona City Council Chambers at Corona City Hall [MAP]. Honorable Mayor Dick Haley will be presenting ‘Corona: A Grand Partnership’ aimed to bring together the community to celebrate accomplishments, review the City’s current standing, and preview the year ahead. 

The event is free and open to the public, however we ask that you please RSVP online here. 

Following the presentation, event attendees will be invited onto the executive balcony for a small reception. We hope to see you there. 

Want to jump, jive and wail?

You can do all that and more at our Swing and Jive dance class at the Seminole Theatre.  This class is meant for people of all ages and for people with some prior experience. This is your chance to perfect your cool moves and impress your friends next time you hear your favorite song come on.

Classes run for 5 straight weeks Thursdays 7:00pm – 8:00pm in the Seminole Theatre studios.  Class begins May 11th and ends June 18th, and there may be a chance to show off to your friends at the end!

Sign up as a single, a couple or as a group of friends.  At just $10 a class, you can’t find a better deal than this.  All you need to bring is a pair of comfortable shoes and a fun attitude.

Do you dream of dancing with the stars?

There’s no better time to start.  Join our beginner’s Salsa Class at the Seminole Theatre.  This class is meant for people of all ages and any experience level to teach or reinforce the basics of Salsa Dancing.  Don’t hold back any more – jump on board!

Classes run for 5 straight weeks Mondays 7:00pm – 8:00 pm in the Seminole Theatre studios.  Class begins May 8th and ends June 29th, and there may be a chance to show off to your friends at the end!

The Seminole Theatre Players is calling auditions for roles in the production of Hairspray, the musical, and we want to see YOU in the show!  All ages, types, and experience levels are encouraged to audition.   There are two days of open calls – you only need to attend ONE day of open calls.  

• Tuesday, May 23 7:00-10:00pm at the Seminole Theatre

• Wednesday May 24 7:30-10:30pm at Lucky’s Saloon for Karaoke Open Call 

After open calls, you may be invited back to callbacks on Thursday, May 25th at the Seminole Theatre from 7:00-10:00pm.

Cast

Hairspray is a diverse show set in inner city Baltimore in the 1960s.  Actors of all ages, race and body type are encouraged to audition.  Due to the nature of the show, some roles are specific to certain ethnicities and to respect the nature of the play, we will make best attempts to cast as such.  For a full breakdown of roles, click HERE.

Audition Guidelines
For Wednesday’s Karaoke open call, be prepared to sing in a karaoke setting at Lucky’s Saloon, just down the street from the Seminole Theatre.  No sheet music is required, just bring yourself, your friends, and maybe pick up some liquid courage at the bar.  If you’re interested in being in a show, but not sure how to audition – this is a great way to get your feet wet and have fun.

Musical Guidelines

Choose a song that you are comfortable with and one that shows off your strength – it does not have to be from a musical. If you are called back on Thursday, we will teach you a song and a dance number from the show.
