The Sounds of Motown is a children’s musical featuring student and professional actors on the real story of Berry Gordy and Motown Records. It celebrates the music that inspired a generation, defined an era, re-shaped the music industry, and changed our culture forever. This exhilarating show featuring a pre and post production art gallery will capture the essence of the visionary Founder and the artists who joined the label and who fought against prejudice and racism to bring America together – breaking barriers, making us stronger, and keeping us moving to the same beat. It’s the beat of a Generation. The sound of a Nation. It’s The Sounds of Motown.

This event is sold out. However, there is still limited seating available for the morning show at 10 am. To reserve your spot, email us at [email protected] or call at 786-650-2073. Maximum of 2 patrons per order.

Bizarre juggling stunts! Jaw-dropping mentalism! Magic and music! Stand-Up! And that’s just in the first 15 minutes of The Chipper Experience, starring comedian and magician Chipper Lowell. He brings to The Lyric a show the Los Angeles Times called “Frenetic, Feverish and Hilarious,” and CBS News said it was “One of the coolest things we’ve seen!” Lowell, twice Comedy Magician of the Year, is a manic red-head who specializes in edgy yet clean comedy and magic. He has been seen on The Tonight Show, Show Me the Funny!, the Disney Channel, and on all four seasons of the Masters of Illusion on the CW network.

These days, Lowell is touring with The Chipper Experience! Where COMEDY and MAGIC Collide. It is a family-friendly stage production that has toured the world. In 2006-2007, it ran for a record-breaking 12 months at the Horizon Casino Resort in Lake Tahoe. You can bring friends and family from 9-99 and join in the fun!

A Band Called Honalee is a modern-day folk trio inspired by the music and legacy of Peter, Paul and Mary.  The group believes the melodies and messages of the 1960s folk and folk/rock era are just as relevant today as they were when they were first sung, perhaps even more so.  Their mission is to share this uniquely American music with new audiences, while rekindling the passion of life-long fans.

A Band Called Honalee has a roster of 8 different vocalists who are all members of the Honalee family.  Their names are Eli Zoller, Sarah Randall Hunt, Chris Ware, Matt Duré, Hanley Smith, Joe Young, Suzanne Lenz and Sam Sherwood.  Each maintains an active solo career, in addition to frequently appearing with A Band Called Honalee around the country.

The group maintains an active national touring schedule, with frequent appearances nationwide, including Arts Midwest, Performing Arts Exchange/South Arts, and Pennsylvania Arts Presenters Conferences. Most recently, A Band Called Honalee has been asked to participate in educational outreach programs across the United States, where they nurture music students of all ages in songwriting and explore the continuing cultural relevance of this vital American music.
