Bizarre juggling stunts! Jaw-dropping mentalism! Magic and music! Stand-Up! And that’s just in the first 15 minutes of The Chipper Experience, starring comedian and magician Chipper Lowell. He brings to The Lyric a show the Los Angeles Times called “Frenetic, Feverish and Hilarious,” and CBS News said it was “One of the coolest things we’ve seen!” Lowell, twice Comedy Magician of the Year, is a manic red-head who specializes in edgy yet clean comedy and magic. He has been seen on The Tonight Show, Show Me the Funny!, the Disney Channel, and on all four seasons of the Masters of Illusion on the CW network.

These days, Lowell is touring with The Chipper Experience! Where COMEDY and MAGIC Collide. It is a family-friendly stage production that has toured the world. In 2006-2007, it ran for a record-breaking 12 months at the Horizon Casino Resort in Lake Tahoe. You can bring friends and family from 9-99 and join in the fun!

Enjoy an unbelievable evening celebrating great ladies of song from Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and the one and only Whitney Houston.  From sound stages or concert halls across the country and around the world, she’s got them standing in the aisles. Bring your own great lady to the show and celebrate Mother’s Day in style.

Lakisha Jones was a single mother and bank employee originally from Flint, Michigan who always dreamed of making it big in the music business, and she had the pipes to do just that!

A top 4 finalist of the 2007 season of “American Idol,” LaKisha Jones is ready to reclaim center stage in music, theatre and television. Her last album, “So Glad I’m Me” was full of Jones’ expressive, full-bodied and arresting vocals, the same voice that electrified “American Idol” viewers with the “Dream Girls” showstopper “And I Am Telling You” and later the Broadway stage in the Oprah Winfrey produced, Tony Award-winning musical, “The Color Purple.” Following her Broadway stint, Jones provided vocal coaching on MTV’s reality competition “Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods,” a show designed to find and hone Broadway’s next star.

The Irish Comedy Tour returns to the Seminole Theatre for a special St. Patrick’s Day performance.

The Irish Comedy Tour takes the party atmosphere of a Dublin pub and combines it with a boisterous, belly-laugh band of hooligans.  The clover — make that clever — comedians, whose ancestors hail from the Emerald Isle, include Detroit native Derek Richards; Boston-born Mike McCarthy; Nova Scotia’s Damon Leibert; and from Inchicore, a suburb of Dublin, Ireland Derrick Keane.

Audiences howl at Richards’ tales about his mom’s dog, the holidays and dating a stripper. He has appeared on The Bob & Tom Show, XM and Sirius, and The Weather Channel’s Top 10.  McCarthy’s no-holds-barred humor has landed him on Comedy Central and Showtime. The “comedy barbarian,” as he calls himself, takes no prisoners when it comes to poking fun at society’s most sensitive topics. Leibert’s unique and energetic style of fiddle playing lies somewhere between the driving dance beat of Cape Breton, and the lyrical music of Ireland. His power packed performance adds an incredible dimension to the show. And finally Keane, originally from Inchicore, Derrick, first distinguished himself musically when the duo in which he sang and played swept the All Ireland Talent Competition. His band, Inchicore, sets the gold standard for the Irish music scene in New England and across North America.

Don’t miss these hilarious Irish American comedians as they tear apart as well as validate all of the Irish myths and stereotypes.

Every song is fresh.
Every scene is new.
Every night is different.
It’s all improvised and
it’s all funny.

The New York Times calls Broadway’s Next Hit Musical “Hilarious!” Time Out NY says “At last! A musical of, for, and by the people.”

The hilarious Broadway’s Next Hit Musical is the only unscripted theatrical awards show. Master improvisers gather made up, hit song suggestions from the audience and create a spontaneous evening of music, humor, and laughter. The audience votes for its favorite song and watches as the cast turns it into a full-blown improvised musical – complete with memorable characters, witty dialogue, and plot twists galore. BNHM has been seen recently at The Triad, Tribeca Film Festival, and at the New York Musical Theater Festival, among many others.

Under the direction of improv veterans Rob Schiffmann and Deb Rabbai, TheaterWeek hailed the show as “brilliant” and The New York Post called Broadway’s Next Hit Musical “remarkable.”

Don’t miss the next great American musical – it could be written by YOU!

Astonishing athletes defy gravity and execute breathtaking feats as they stretch the limits of human ability in this spellbinding show. Fearless performers with boundless energy bring you more than two thousand years of Chinese circus traditions. If it’s humanly possible and even if it’s not! Shanghai acrobats, jugglers and contortionists do it with spectacular flair. Direct from China, this troupe has been wowing audiences for 16 years.

The Chinese acrobatic tradition dates back to 700 B.C.; that’s over 2,000 years of tumbling, balancing and juggling. Ancient stone carvings, earthen pottery and early written work trace the ancestry of today’s spectacular acts. Relics tell the tales of famous acrobats like Confucius’ father, who is believed to have lifted a pair of 1,000-pound city gates to let an army storm through.

The art of Chinese acrobatics developed out of the Lunar New Year harvest celebrations, where the village’s peasants and craftsmen would hold a kind of Chinese Thanksgiving. Acrobats would use household tools and common items found around the farm and workshop as part of their exciting feats. Performers passed their skills down from generation to generation and great acrobatic families of China entertained everyone from city rulers to village people, performing at ceremonial carnivals and public theaters across the country.
