Experience the enchanting world of the Nutcracker Ballet this holiday season with the South Florida Ballet's annual performance. Set to grace the stage on December 3, 2023, at the Seminole Theatre in Homestead, Florida, this cherished holiday tradition promises to captivate audiences of all ages.

"The Nutcracker" is a timeless ballet that transports audiences to a magical realm where dreams come to life. The story unfolds on Christmas Eve, as young Clara receives a remarkable gift from her godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer—a nutcracker in the shape of a soldier. The little toy transforms into an extraordinary prince who takes her on a journey through the Land of Sweets.

The stage is transformed into a fantastical land where toy soldiers battle, snowflake flurries dance, and the Sugar Plum Fairy reigns. Clara and her Nutcracker Prince journey through a winter wonderland, meeting a cast of memorable characters, including the enchanting Snow Queen, the lively Russian dancers, and the graceful Arabian dancers.

Tchaikovsky's mesmerizing score provides the perfect backdrop for this magical journey, with its iconic melodies and lush orchestration. Brought to life by South Florida Ballet's talented dancers, the evening promises to be a truly memorable experience.

Join us on December 3, 2023, at the Seminole Theatre in Homestead, Florida, for a night of enchantment, laughter, and holiday magic. Create lasting memories with family and friends as you embark on a captivating journey through the Land of Sweets and the Land of Snow. Don't miss your chance to be a part of this beloved holiday tradition and immerse yourself in the magic of "The Nutcracker."

South Florida Ballet, founded in 1997 by Artistic Director Jennifer Rose, aimed to make ballet education accessible to aspiring professionals and art enthusiasts alike. Breaking away from traditional audition-based training, the school offered a premier dance education to all. Jennifer, drawing from her ballet training, teaching experience, and choreographic creativity, designed the curriculum. Within the initial years, students gained acceptance into prestigious national ballet programs. In the early 2000s, Maria Eugenia Lorenzo and Riolama Lorenzo-Lasa, a New York City Ballet dancer and Pennsylvania Ballet Principal, joined the faculty, enriching the school with their professional expertise.

Outgrowing its original space, the school moved to a revamped 5,000-square-foot warehouse with high dock ceilings and sprung floors, establishing one of the region's top-notch dance facilities. In the 2010s, professional ballet dancers Lourdes Gomez (Principal with The Cuban National Ballet) and Hiroko Sakakibara-Sliva (The Royal Ballet School, Antwerp) further strengthened the school's commitment to professional dance education.

South Florida Ballet’s journey, marked by its commitment to accessible classical ballet education and a roster of exceptional faculty, continues to foster the dreams of aspiring dancers, ensuring a bright future for the world of ballet.

Now working as a solo act, Jimmy is a regular Headliner for Catch A Rising Star in Princeton, Atlantic City, and Reno as well as Catch's Stand-Up Instructor, teaching and coaching the talented newcomers in comedy.

Kevin White (United States Airforce)

United States Air Force Veteran, Kevin White's Stand-Up Comedy ranges from everyday buffoonery to the normally absurd, with a couple of side dishes of the cartoon voices constantly in his head to his multiple disastrous attempts at marriage.

Born just south of Boston, Massachusetts, Kevin was raised on what some might call an unhealthy amount of television. But it was this constant barrage of 60s and 70s culture bombardment that led to his love of comedy and performing.
