SUMMARY:It's a Wonderful Life Auditions - Oct 7th and 8th
DESCRIPTION:Come audition for STP’s Holiday show It’s a Wonderful Life Auditions\nMonday\, 07 October 2019 7PM & Tuesday\, 8 October 2019 7PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 North Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n  \n\n\n \nThe Seminole Theatre Players (STP) is announcing auditions for their holiday show! STP is calling auditions for roles in the production of It’s A Wonderful Life\, and we want to see YOU in the show! All experience levels are encouraged to audition. Don’t miss your opportunity to be apart of this cherished holiday tradition in homestead. \nThe system defaults to Monday\, but you can hit “SELECT A DIFFERENT DATE” to choose another date \n  \nAudition Information \nThere will be two days of open call auditions (you need only attend one audition day) followed by an additional day of call backs. You may or may not be invited to return for call backs. Audition dates and times are as follows: \nOPEN CALL AUDITIONS Monday\, October 7 from 7:00-10:00 in the evening at the Seminole Theatre.  \nTuesday\, October 8 from 7:00-10:00 in the evening at the Seminole Theatre. \nCALL BACKSThursday\, October 10 from 7:00-10:00 in the evening at the Seminole Theatre. \nRecommendations of What to Bring for Open Calls1. Monologue \n– Auditioners are encouraged (but not required) to prepare a dramatic monologue. If you have no monologue prepared\, we will have a short monologue from the play that we will ask you to read and act out. \n– What is a monologue\, you say? A monologue in theater can best be described as a speech presented by a single character\, most often to express their mental thoughts aloud\, though sometimes also to directly address another character or the audience. They are often great tools to evaluate an actor’s range and common practice in auditions. \n– How to pick a monologue? Check out these 9 essential tips from Backstage Magazine. https://www.backstage.com/advice-for-actors/backstage-experts/9-elements-make-great-monologue/ \n– Then\, check out this database of monologues prepared by StageAgent https://stageagent.com/monologues \n– We want to see you be awesome\, so don’t be afraid to prepare a monologue or just show up and read the script. We just want to see you come out to auditions. \n2. Resume and Headshot \n– Also\, it’s very helpful to bring a resume of any other shows or related experience\, plus a RECENT headshot or photograph (a computer print out or 4×6 print from CVS/Walgreens etc. is fine). \n Show Information and Time Commitment It’s A Wonderful LifeAdapted for the stage by: James W. Shana’s melodies weave strong hints of jazz\, classical\, soulful folk\, acoustic pop and a touch of R&B into a distinctive rhythmic tapestry.  \nTouted by JazzTimes Magazine as a jazz talent “…whose imprint and vitality has already been quite visible…” Shana’s style and sound as been described as a blend of Dianne Reeves\, Joni Mitchell\, and Tracy Chapman\, with an efficient complexity that is reminiscent of Bill Withers.  ChamberSoul™ best describes what the listener should expect when experiencing Shana’s music. “I’m intrinsically drawn to “real” instruments\, with resonance\, tone and depth that can sound without amplification. Whenever and however possible\, I always try to set a tone of acoustic intimacy with my colleagues on stage\, and also with the audience\, so that the music\, performers and audience feel close and tangible\, no matter the size the venue.” \nGrowing up on Long Island\, NY as a beneficiary of public school arts education\, Shana’s classical cello and singing talents awarded her a scholarship to Howard University in Washington\, DC\, where she was first introduced to jazz and other essential musical resources\, on campus and around the city. While at Howard\, Shana initiated her improvisation chops and honed her songwriting skills\, but decided to relocate to NYC to study with master cellist Marion Feldman and complete her undergraduate studies in performance at CUNY-Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music.  \nWant to save on tickets?  Build your own package\, the more shows you add\, the more you save!
