Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n \n“The Nutcracker\,” presented by Alihaydee Carreño Ballet School\, is a complete production\, but this time we are dividing the performance into two parts. \nThe first part is with a diversity of classical\, contemporary\, Lyrical\, and jazz dances where \nour students demonstrate their technical work and their preparation for competitions that will represent our school at a high level. \nThe second part of the program will be the Nutcracker ballet. \nA family Christmas tradition\, perfect for celebrating the season. \nFull of spectacular settings\, colorful costumes\, and fascinating characters. Children and adults will be captivated by the Snow scene\, which transports us to a winter landscape in which snowflakes dance in that magical snowy forest world. \nFlying into the world of fairies with its perfect music creates the atmosphere of a fairy tale\, which takes them to the kingdom of sweets. Where a party is held and where a series of traditional and exotic dances from different countries take place where it is received by the Garapiñada fairy\, her Knight\, and the rest of the sweets. \nCertainly\, Tchaikovsky’s music for this ballet is one of his most famous scores. The theater conservatory program provides training and performance opportunities for young people. Kids of ages 9-16 can now register for our spring production of Once on this island Jr. \nAn island of storytellers come together to tell a story of love\, bravery\, and strength…the story of the peasant girl\, Ti Moune. An orphan\, chosen by the Gods\, is taken into a simple and loving family\, Though content\, she feels like she was destined for something more. After a terrible accident caused by a wicked storm\, Ti Moune falls for a handsome\, ailing\, stranger whom she tries desperately to nurse back to health. She bargains with the Gods for his life\, but to do so she must make the ultimate sacrifice. This sets our young peasant girl on the ultimate quest to answer the age old question\, can love conquer death? \nThe rehearsals will be every Saturday\, January 21\, 2023 from 8:30am – 5:30pm at the Seminole Theatre. Plan to bring a snack and lunch during every rehearsal. We also expect the students to be available every evening for tech rehearsals 04/17/23- 04/20/22\, and for the three performances 04/21/23-04/23/23(Friday and Saturday evenings\, Sunday afternoon). \nNo experience required! The Jr. Players are open to all who wish to be involved. Auditions will be held on the first rehearsal day\, and parts will be assigned for the production. Not every student can play a lead role\, but every student will be an integral part of a fun production and have a fantastic learning experience. \nThe full tution cost is $750 to cover the directors and instructors\, plus any costumes\, props or specialty makeup needed for the show (other than shoes and basic undergarments).  \n​Scholarships: \nWe have half scholarships available thanks to the Friends of the Historic Seminole. Scholarships will be given on a financial need basis. For the first time we will also have scholarships available based on Merit. Applicants will be asked to submit a 60 sec video of the child singing. Our goal is to continue this celebration for many years and that it becomes a forum ofartistic expression for lovers of Mariachi music. \nWe hope to make our presentation memorable for everyone. \n¡Viva La Música de Mariachi y que Viva México! \nMariachi Sol de Oro was founded in 2019 by Oscar Bedoya in Miami\, FL. We are a group of professional musicians dedicated to the Mariachi music Folklore. Together we have more than 25 years of experience traveling through Mexico\, Latin America and some cities in the US. We have been at the height of important events in Miami accompanying different artists as part of a musical framework\, among them; Luis Miguel\, Alejandro Fernandez\, Pepe Aguilar\, Marco Antonio Solís\, Plácido Domingo\, Marc Anthony\, Raul DiBlasio and many more.
