SUMMARY:STP Aladdin Jr Registration
DESCRIPTION:Register for Aladdin Jr\nAugust 31 – November 24\, 2019\nSeminole Theatre\n18 North Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n \n\n\n \nSponsored by CJ Aviation \nDoes your child dream of taking center stage? Now is the time to make those dreams come true. \nThe Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre are proud to announce the formation of The Junior Players\, a theater conservatory program providing training and performance opportunities for young people. Kids of ages 9-16 can now register for our spring production of Disney’s The Lion King Jr. \nDisney’s Aladdin JR. is based on the 1992 Academy Award®-winning film and the 2014 hit Broadway show about the “diamond in the rough” street rat who learns that his true worth lies deep within. \nThe story you know and love has been given the royal treatment! Aladdin and his three friends\, Babkak\, Omar\, and Kassim\, are down on their luck until Aladdin discovers a magic lamp and the Genie who has the power to grant three wishes. Wanting to earn the respect of the princess\, Jasmine\, Aladdin embarks on an adventure that will test his will and his moral character. \nIn the Junior Players production\, students will have the opportunity to take on one of the famous roles in the Aladdin Jr. The students will rehearse every Saturday with our theatre professionals\, learning acting\, singing\, choreography and stagecraft\, and then perform the full show to the public on the Seminole Theatre mainstage. \nThe rehearsals will be every Saturday\, August 31 through November 17\, 2019 from 9:00am – 3:30pm at the Seminole Theatre. We also expect the students to be available every evening for tech rehearsals 11/18/19-11/21/19\, and for the three to four performances 11/22/19-11/24/19(Friday and Saturday evenings\, Sunday afternoon plus a possible Saturday afternoon). \nNo experience required! The Jr. Players are open to all who wish to be involved. Auditions will be held on the first rehearsal day\, and parts will be assigned for the production. Not every student can play a lead role\, but every student will be an integral part of a fun production and have a fantastic learning experience. \nThe full tution cost is $750 to cover the directors and instructors\, plus any costumes\, props or specialty makeup needed for the show (other than shoes and basic undergarments). HOWEVER\, EVERY student is eligible for a $450 scholarship thanks to the Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre\, simply by filling out a statement “What Theater Means to Me”. \nThere are additional scholarships provided by the Ocean Reef Foundation on a financial need-based basis. These scholarships will cover the full tuition\, and all that is required is a $50 security deposit to ensure attendance. \nLunch is not provided\, students will need to bring lunches (a refrigerator and microwave are available). \nTo register\, please check out on Eventbrite below\, or call or visit the Seminole Theatre box office at 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL 786-650-2073. We will need a $100 deposit to secure the spot\, and the balance will be due prior to the first day of rehearsal on August 31st.. \nSPACE IS LIMITED TO 40 PARTICIPANTS! Make sure to reserve your spot. Deposits are non-refundable. Only accepting ages 9-16. \nFor questions or additional information\, please contact the Seminole Theatre Players at 786-650-2073 or seminoletheatreplayers@gmail.com . We are also looking for volunteers to help with rehearsals\, costumes\, sets\, and backstage during performances. Volunteers can also contact seminoletheatreplayers@gmail.com with interest and availability. \nSCHOLARSHIPS: \nScholarships are now available thanks to the support of the Ocean Reef Foundation\, the State of Florida Department of Cultural Affairs and the Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre. \nThe Seminole Theatre Players are committed to serving prospective student performers regardless of their personal financial status or ability to pay. Scholarships will be awarded on an at-need basis. \nPlease fill out the application completely and return it directly to the Seminole theatre Box Office or email to SeminoleTheatrePlayers@gmail.com. All requests should include the required information: Incomplete applications cannot be considered. \n<p style=”text-align: center;”><em class=”fa fa-ticket”> SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
\nTickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre box office\, 786-650-2073 or 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL (Tues-Sat 12-6pm) \n \nAll sales are final. There are no refunds for any reason except event cancellation. \n \nPlease note: This production\, meeting or event is not presented or produced by the Seminole Theatre\, Pinnacle Venue Services or the City of Homestead. The Seminole Theatre acts as a rental venue for groups and promoters of all types. SUMMARY:The not so Little Prince presented by The Opera Atelier
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered what happened to the Little Prince? You will learn all about it in The not so Little Prince\, the premiere production of the NEW one-act opera based on the story of The Little Prince.\nSaturday\, 20 July 2019 7 PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n \n\n\n \nHave you ever wondered what happened to the Little Prince? \nYou will learn all about it in The not so Little Prince\, the premiere production of the NEW one-act opera based on the story of The Little Prince. In this updated version\, the young Prince visits familiar and new worlds. A full production performed by children and youngsters from The Opera Atelier MOZ-Art Program. Libretto by Daniel Daroca and music by Waldo Díaz\, takes us a journey through space and time. \n“A quirky story has long been circulated about The Little Prince. Thinking that it was a true story\, people took the trouble of translating it. The book came to be published in many languages and became so popular that the copies would fly off the shelves. Well intentioned people would acquire the book and treasure it. They would have a good cry while reading it and then share it with their children\, some of whom cried even more. So\, little by little\, the legend of The Little Prince spread to all corners of the Earth\, accompanied by sighs and tears. Armed with a silly picture and a few provisions\, throngs of enthusiasts of the story crisscrossed the Sahara in search of that mysterious place where the Prince had supposedly returned to his home planet\, hoping to catch a glimpse of the youth- should he ever decide to come back to the same spot. Of course\, many perished in this useless trek\, and most of the few survivors never read another book. \nBut rather than correcting the famous account\, here is the true story of one of The Little Prince’s journeys\, as told by the Prince himself. It is the tale of one of those run of the mill days when he goes planet hopping for the afternoon and is back home in time for an early dinner and a stroll.” \nAnd\, look around! Who knows if the globetrotting Prince himself is not here tonight\, catching the performance of his very own opera?” \nExtracted from the foreword to the new opera The not so Little Prince\, by Daniel Daroca. \nWebsite: www.theoperaatelier.org \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/theoperaatelier/ \nTickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre box office\, 786-650-2073 or 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL (Tues-Sat 12-6pm) \n \nAll sales are final. There are no refunds for any reason except event cancellation. \n<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/EJpi3cb5niM” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen> \nPlease note: This production\, meeting or event is not presented or produced by the Seminole Theatre\, Pinnacle Venue Services or the City of Homestead.
