Good girl who is madly in love with Brad. Always seems to be frightened of something. Keeps losing more of her clothes throughout the story. Everyone who was a fan of the former “Main Street Café” in Homestead will especially want to join us to hear this new generation of musical story tellers. One of my greatest teachers was Eugene Massin who’s painting are hanging at Hard Rock Dolphin Stadium. I was an art teacher for 34 years with Miami-Dade County schools before retiring as Teacher of the Year at my school. I love color! Painting nature\, fantasy and animals are my special interest. The cast of Bastien und Bastienne includes Darlen Maceo (Bastienne)\, Silvio Plata (Bastien)\, Alan Izquierdo (Colas)\, Leyanelis Díaz\, Avril Valle and María Emilia Perozo as Bastienne’s friends\, and César Castillo as Bastien’s friend and confidant. \nThe second part of the program offers a selection of great opera and zarzuela moments featuring a cast of experienced local and out of town singers. DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, June 24th 2021 6:00 pm\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n\n \n\nOn Thursday\, June 24th\, the Seminole Theatre will open its doors to the public for a Gallery Night at the Seminole. Starting at 6:00 pm\, guests are welcome to browse the artwork on display\, meet the featured artist\, and enjoy light Hors d’œuvres. \nTerre Rybovich’s drawings are the product of an intuitive process. She staples a large piece of paper to a sheet of plywood\, then scrubs the entire surface with a thick stick of charcoal. Then she works spontaneously to imprint her hands\, limbs and torso in the charcoal. Her aim is to start the drawing with random marks.  \nUltimately it is those marks that determine the outcome of the drawing. Spending as much time looking at the drawing as she does working on it\, Terre relies on her intuition and her drawing skills to find the final image in the spontaneous marks. Working without preconceived results allows her to draw imagery she never could have imagined.  \nSince becoming a serious birder\, Terre also draws birds based on photos she takes. They sometimes appear in her intuitive drawings too. \nTerre earned her Bachelors in Politics and Economics from New York University. She has a Masters in Rural Sociology from Wisconsin-Madison. Her first career was in grant-making to community and agricultural development programs. That experience instilled a courageous drive that Terre now channels into art-making. \nToday Terre lives in Homestead with her husband Jon Ward. When Elle’s boyfriend\, Warner\, dumps her and heads to Harvard\, claiming she’s not “serious” enough\, Elle takes matters into her own hands\, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. At our gala\, we will celebrate all the events that have happened so far\, as well as announce future plans. You will be treated to a full night of entertainment including dinner\, cocktails\, entertainment from special guests\, and the chance to fundraise by bidding on some exclusive opportunities only available at our gala. \nThe Seminole Theatre is not only an important historic fixture for the City of Homestead\, but now operates as the premier Performing Arts Center for the area\, drawing artists of national and international acclaim while also showcasing local artists. \nThe Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre traveled the long road to have the building restored and renovated\, capping off the success with a grand re-opening in December of 2015. Now\, “The Friends” are responsible for the continued maintenance and improvement of the theater\, as well as supporting community based programming. In a short amount of time\, The Friends have already been responsible for: \n\nInstalling and supporting the “Artist in the Spotlight” program\, allowing local visual artists to showcase in the Seminole Theatre lobby\, supported by a free bi-monthly open house.\nSupporting over 3000 at-need youth and families to attend professional performances at the Seminole Theatre.\nAfter the Seminole Theatre’s resident theatre company\, the Seminole Theatre Players\, started\, the theatre has put on widely successful shows like Hairspray\, In the Heights\, Annie\, AIDA\, and the Little Mermaid\, featuring South Florida’s finest performers. The Swon Brothers became the first duo to make it to a season finale with the help of their coach\, Blake Shelton on the hit TV show\, The Voice. In October 2014\, The Swon Brothers released their self-titled album and received a nomination for CMA Vocal Duo of the Year. Shortly after\, in 2016\, they released their EP\, Timeless and spent the year touring coast to coast in the United States and Canada with Carrie Underwood on The Storytellers Tour. In 2017\, The Swon Brothers toured “The about Last Night Tour” and charted their follow up single\, “Don’t Call Me.” The Swon Brothers have been busy preparing new music and have just released the first single\, “What Ever Happened” from their new EP. \nTheir brand new single answers a question that the brothers are often asked…. what it’s like to work with your brother? They decided to write a song about it. “Travelin’ On\,” written by Zach Swon\, Colton Swon\, Jonathan Dean and Stephen Hunley describes the brothers’ relationship\, both on and off the stage. The trials of sometimes not seeing eye-to-eye tempered by the steadfast bond that they have as best friends that keeps them focused on family and career\, and moving forward\, “traveling on\,” metaphorically and literally.
