SUMMARY:The Rocket Man Show: A Tribute to Elton John
DESCRIPTION:Simply put – this is Elton! Scotsman Rus Anderson is Elton John’s official body double for his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ world tour videos & photos! Hand-picked by Elton John himself\, it was Rus’ own live production ‘The Rocket Man Show’ which got him noticed.\nSaturday\, February 29 2020 8:00PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n   \n\n\n \n<a href=”https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-rocket-man-show-a-tribute-to-elton-john-tickets-62508180651?ref=ebtn” target=”_blank”><img src=”https://www.eventbrite.com/custombutton?eid=62508180651″ alt=”Eventbrite – The Rocket Man Show: A Tribute to Elton John” /></a> \nSimply put – this is Elton! \nScotsman Rus Anderson is Elton John’s official body double for his ‘Farewell Yellow Brick Road’ world tour videos & photos!Hand-picked by Elton John himself\, it was Rus’ own live production ‘The Rocket Man Show’ which got him noticed. \nIn the show\, Rus recreates the magic & live persona of a young Elton like no other. Storming around the stage with a fun-loving sense of flamboyance; part diva\, part soccer player\, killer vocalist\, fierce piano player\, all rock & roller.Rus’ painstaking attention to detail includes wearing gorgeous\, colorful & spectacular costumes (many actually worn by Elton) including his iconic boots\, glasses & jumpsuits from 1973\, as well as a sparkly Swarovski tuxedo from 1984. \nIt is clearly the most authentic Elton John tribute show in the world. \nThe Rocket Man Show is a regular feature across the USA at venues such as House of Blues\, Hard Rock Live\, Caesar’s\, Harrah’s\, Legends in The concert\, BB King’s\, Universal Studios & Walt Disney World. \nYou cannot go wrong with this much experience onstage at your venue. \nRus & his full band of merry crackerjack musicians are the very best in the business. The show is 100% live in both vocals & instrumentation. Absolutely no tracks or lip-syncing. The performance itself is an extremely sincere\, intense & visual spectacle of a journey. There are ballads & driving rock songs. Audiences laugh\, cry\, sing & dance as they recall the highs & lows of Elton’s epic career. \nIn summary\, the key to buying a ticket to go see a band is knowing how professional they’ll look\, act & perform when they arrive. Rus Anderson has been officially hired by Elton John himself to re-enact the most memorable moments of his career. How’s that for peace of mind? \nYou are OK with Rus\, Elton John thinks so too! \nWhat you see is what you get & that’s entertainment. \n \nTickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre box office\, 786-650-2073 or 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL (Tues-Sat 12-6pm). \n \nAll sales are final. There are no refunds for any reason except event cancellation. \n<iframe width=”560″ height=”315″ src=”https://www.youtube.com/embed/J53Xph5MFIE” frameborder=”0″ allow=”accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture” allowfullscreen></iframe> \nPlease note: This production\, meeting or event is not presented or produced by the Seminole Theatre\, Pinnacle Venue Services or the City of Homestead. She attended New World school of the Arts in downtown Miami. She continued her education at Southern Methodist University\, on a full scholarship\, in Dallas Texas obtaining a Bachelor in Fine Arts and Psychology. During her time there\, she founded\, produced and choreographed two dance productions\, entitled “Brown Bags” for which she received high praise for considerable talent and innovation. Brown Bag Showcases\, which primarily consist of student choreography\, are still conducted and performed at SMU. She also received a full scholarship tothe Alvin Ailey Summer Workshop Program in NYC during 1993-1995. Raquel appeared in “Diversion of Angels” for the Martha Grahman School of Dance. It was during this time that Raquel recognized her passion for choreography and returned to Florida. Wanting to share her passion for dance with others in 2011 she founded Xpressit Dance Center a place where every dancer\, regardless of previous training\, could feel at home while they developing self-esteem\, poise\, grace\, and confidence. The group offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as an increasing amount of original material. The band has a rocky\, rhythmic undertow; layered with guitars\, fiddle\, and topped by Derina’s powerful voice. dHb has been likened to a rockier version of Canada’s Great Big Sea\, if fronted by Adele\, and has earned a reputation as a high-energy live show. \nThe band has already covered a fair amount of Canada via the performing arts and festival circuits (over 180 performances since starting 2016)\, and is now poised to break into the United States\, having been selected for three juried US showcases in the past year. The group’s showcase at the Arts Northwest Conference in Tacoma in 2017 garnered them the “Best Showcase” Award and resulted in numerous bookings in the Northwest. Their recent trips to showcase at the Western Arts Alliance conference in Las Vegas (August\, 2018) and Performing Arts Exchange in Orlando (October\, 2018) have already garnered interest across the US. \nThe band has two full length recordings to their credit. Their self-titled debut album (2013) has garnered radio airplay across Canada\, and their second album Rove and Go (2016) has become even more widespread\, being added at over 30 stations across Canada and tracking at #65 on CKUA’s top-played albums for 2016. The band is currently writing original material (latest single “The Fallen Man’s Daughter” – release date October 19th\, 2018) and will release a full-length album of primarily original material in 2019. \nWant to save on tickets?  Build your own package\, the more shows you add\, the more you save! SUMMARY:Asleep At The Wheel
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, 06 February 2020 8PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n\n\n \n \n<a href=”https://www.eventbrite.com/e/asleep-at-the-wheel-tickets-70833012447?ref=ebtn” target=”_blank”><img src=”https://www.eventbrite.com/custombutton?eid=70833012447″ alt=”Eventbrite – Asleep At The Wheel” /></a> \n“New Routes” the brand-new album by Asleep At the Wheel\, marks both a new path forward and a nod to the freewheeling roots (get it?) of one of Texas’ most beloved bands. After a decade of collaborating on record with friends\, including Willie Nelson on 2009’s Grammy Nominated “Willie and the Wheel” and in 2015 their critically acclaimed and Grammy winning tribute to the groundbreaking music of Western Swing pioneer Bob Wills\, titled “Still the King”. With “New Routes” the Wheel has released their first album of new material in over a decade! \nWith a fresh new lineup\, a bracing blend of original songs and vibrant cover material and some unanticipated new musical tangents\, Asleep At the Wheel demonstrates convincingly it’s more relevant\, enjoyable and musically nimble than any time in its 49 year history! \nThe 6’7” Benson has been the one constant in Asleep At the Wheel since the band’s founding in 1970 in Paw Paw\, West Virginia. Since that time\, more than 100 musicians have passed through the Wheel\, but Benson remains the front man and the keeper of the vision\, in the process racking up more than 25 albums\, ten Grammy awards and literally millions of miles on the road. \n“It took me 60 years\, but I’m doing what I’m meant to do—singing and playing and writing better than I ever have. A bandleader is just someone who gathers people around them to play the best music they can play. I just try and make the best decisions possible and kick some ass every night onstage.” \nKatie Shore follows in the long tradition of strong and talented female performers who have been an integral part of the band’s identity for decades. Shore says. “I always wanted to be in Asleep At the Wheel\,” she said. “If you grew up in Fort Worth and played the fiddle\, it was impossible not to know who the Wheel was. I feel part of a legacy\, for sure.” \n“This was a chance to re-invent the Wheel\,” said Benson. “These are creative folks who can add stuff. I’m just the bandleader\, so if I don’t have contributions from everybody\, then the Wheel doesn’t roll.” \nNew Routes\, he said\, “is a pure distillation of where the band is right now\,” Benson declared. “It gives me the palette that I’ve always wanted\,” he added. “To be in Asleep at the Wheel you gotta be able to play Bob Wills\, Country music\, Louis Jordan\, Count Basie etc… Every night I’m excited to play music with this lineup” \n \nJoining the band is their talented opening act\, Brennen Leigh! \n Brennen Leigh is an American songwriter\, guitar player\, mandolin player and singer whose to-the-point storytelling style has elevated her to cult icon status in Europe\,       Scandinavia\, across the United States\, South America and the United Kingdom. It’s easy to see why she’s caught the ear of greats like legendary Lubbock fiddler Tommy   Hancock (widely regarded as the godfather of West Texas music)\, who was quoted as saying of Leigh’s work; “It’s great to hear music that affects you on an intellectual l   evel as well as makes you want to dance”.  \nhttps://www.brennenleigh.net/ \n \n \nTickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre box office\, 786-650-2073 or 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL (Tues-Sat 12-6pm). \n \nAll sales are final. SUMMARY:STP Jr presents Legally Blonde Jr Registration
DESCRIPTION:Register for Legally Blonde Jr\nFebruary 1 through April 18\, 2020\nSeminole Theatre\n18 North Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n  \n\n\n \nSponsored by Homestead Baptist Hospital  \nDoes your child dream of taking center stage? Now is the time to make those dreams come true. \nThe Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre are proud to announce the formation of The Junior Players\, a theater conservatory program providing training and performance opportunities for young people. Kids of ages 12-18 can now register for our production of Legally Blonde Jr. \nLegally Blonde Jr follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes\, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. When Elle’s boyfriend\, Warner\, dumps her and heads to Harvard\, claiming she’s not “serious” enough\, Elle takes matters into her own hands\, crafting a showy song-and-dance personal essay and charming her way into law school. Befriending classmate\, Emmett\, and spunky hairdresser\, Paulette\, along the way\, Elle finds that books and looks aren’t mutually exclusive. As Elle begins outsmarting her peers\, she realizes that law may be her natural calling after all. \nLegally Blonde JR. features large\, energetic dance numbers with an expandable cast of sorority sisters\, law school students\, hairdressers and more. \nThe rehearsals will be every Saturday\, February 1 through April 18\, 2020 from 9:00am – 3:30pm at the Seminole Theatre. The Jr. Players are open to all who wish to be involved. Auditions will be held on the first rehearsal day\, and parts will be assigned for the production. Not every student can play a lead role\, but every student will be an integral part of a fun production and have a fantastic learning experience. \nThe full tution cost is $750 to cover the directors and instructors\, plus any costumes\, props or specialty makeup needed for the show (other than shoes and basic undergarments). HOWEVER\, EVERY student is eligible for a $450 scholarship thanks to the Friends of the Historic Seminole Theatre\, simply by filling out a statement “What Theater Means to Me”. \nThere are additional scholarships provided by the Ocean Reef Foundation on a financial need-based basis. These scholarships will cover the full tuition\, and all that is required is a $50 security deposit to ensure attendance. \nLunch is not provided\, students will need to bring lunches (a refrigerator and microwave are available). \n \nSPACE IS LIMITED TO 40 PARTICIPANTS! SUMMARY:Southern Fried Funny Comedy Show
DESCRIPTION:Southern Fried Funny Comedy Show\nSaturday 01 February 2020 8:00PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n  \n\n\n \n \nJoining the fun is comedian and host\, Paul Jensen! \nPaul Jensen is proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. You will immediately notice his intimidating appearance\, booming voice and commanding stage presence. But it won’t take you long to realize that he is a goofy\, fun-loving entertainer whose only goal is to make you laugh. The son of Danish immigrants\, Paul is a modern-day Viking that just happened to spend his childhood in the hillbilly country of Missouri. Always the black sheep in school and social situations he learned that humor was the best way to make friends. After getting married\, starting a family and running a successful business Paul decided to try stand-up comedy several years ago. Performing comedy on stage just happened to be the one place where he felt completely at home. And he’s proof that comedy doesn’t have to be filthy to be funny. Over the past several years Paul has performed at some of the top comedy clubs in the country and is a regular at the Atlantis Casino and Resort in the Bahamas. He’s shared the stage with many of the top acts from television and film and has been seen on FOX network as well as nationally aired commercials. \nJuanita Lolita’s comedy career began when a coworker signed her up for an open mic night. Within one year she was performing for over 7\,000 women at a church conference in Atlanta and since then has performed throughout the Southeast. Recently she was voted Tampa’s funniest female and has been featured on CTN\, ABC and several radio shows. Her Latin flair and hillbilly background have quickly become a crowd favorite. Juanita takes pride in the fact that she can make you laugh hysterically without profanity. Her comedy focuses on observations from everyday life that we can all relate to and she closes out each show with her much anticipated ‘list of things she doesn’t understand. \nChris Flanagan has been entertaining folks around the South and beyond with his high-energy comedyfor years. His stories of being raised by a teacher and growing up poor in Mobile\, Alabama will leave you in stitches.Chris won the Comedy Central South Beach Comedy Festival. He made the Top 6 of the World Series of Comedy (SE Regional\, 2019) and the Top 101 W.S.C Comics in the country (Las Vegas). In addition\, he made the Finals of Florida’s Funniest Comedian (Top 6 in state)\, which has deemed him one of “Florida’s Funniest Next Rising Stars.” He was also the “Official Comedian of the Miami Dolphins (NFL).” His clever act earned him the coveted “Gulf Coast Belly Laugh Award\,” which allowed him to perform at Harrah’s Casino in Las Vegas. Worthy of note\, he performed at The Brickell Comedy Festival (Miami)\, featured at the Big Little Comedy Festival (Cleveland)\, and was recently selected for the Asheville Comedy Festival. \nThis isn’t just any comedy show\, it’s a southern comedy experience! We’ll have BBQ food\, line dancing\, adult iced tea\, and games to bring some southern charm to our theatre. \nPre-sale tickets are $18.  At the door on day of show tickets are $20 \n18+ \n \nTickets are also available at the Seminole Theatre box office\, 786-650-2073 or 18 N Krome Ave\, Homestead\, FL (Tues-Sat 12-6pm) \n \nAll sales are final.
