Learn from the Theatre industry’s best! \nWe’re bringing back our annual summer camp – with a twist! \nThis year\, we will be hosting a smaller more intimate cycle theatre style summer camp. Cycle plays have been around for hundreds of years\, and involve performers keeping their distance in separate rooms to tell the same story together in sequences. \nOur 6-week camp will be broken into small groups led by our talented instructors\, campers will be working with towards an original cycle play that will take place in different areas of our theatre. The theatre will provide complimentary lunch\, snacks and learning materials. Each camper in the program is required to bring their own face mask. We will provide sanitation stations throughout the building so all students can practice safely. \nDuring the last two days of camp\, all cohorts of campers will come to the theatre and perform their section of the play in separate spaces in the building. Parents can purchase tickets for a specific time slot to get a walk-through experience of the theatre as they watch each different scenes play out in separate areas of the theatre. All guests are required to bring their own face masks\, and there will be no more than 10 guests permitted in each perfromance space at a time. \nThe first day of camp is July 6th and ends on Friday\, August 14th\, ages 8 -14. \nCost: $150.00 per week for 6 weeks for a total of $900 tuition. She attended New World school of the Arts in downtown Miami. She continued her education at Southern Methodist University\, on a full scholarship\, in Dallas Texas obtaining a Bachelor in Fine Arts and Psychology. During her time there\, she founded\, produced and choreographed two dance productions\, entitled “Brown Bags” for which she received high praise for considerable talent and innovation. Brown Bag Showcases\, which primarily consist of student choreography\, are still conducted and performed at SMU. She also received a full scholarship tothe Alvin Ailey Summer Workshop Program in NYC during 1993-1995. Raquel appeared in “Diversion of Angels” for the Martha Grahman School of Dance. It was during this time that Raquel recognized her passion for choreography and returned to Florida. Raquel spent subsequent years teaching at prestigious local studios helping to mold and inspire young dancers. Wanting to share her passion for dance with others in 2011 she founded Xpressit Dance Center a place where every dancer\, regardless of previous training\, could feel at home while they developing self-esteem\, poise\, grace\, and confidence. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n\n\n \n”Eventbrite \nFearless front-woman Derina Harvey leads this Celtic rock group\, who are recent winners of the People’s Choice Award at the 2018 Edmonton Music Awards​. The group offers a fresh take on traditional folk songs as well as an increasing amount of original material. The band has a rocky\, rhythmic undertow; layered with guitars\, fiddle\, and topped by Derina’s powerful voice. dHb has been ​likened to a rockier version of Canada’s Great Big Sea​\,​ if fronted by Adele​\, and has earned a reputation as a ​high-energy live show​. \nThe band has already covered a fair amount of Canada via the performing arts and festival circuits (​over 180 performances since starting 2016​)\, and is now poised to break into the United States\, having been ​selected for three juried US showcases ​in the past year. The group’s showcase at the Arts Northwest Conference in Tacoma in 2017 garnered them the “Best Showcase” Award and resulted in numerous bookings in the Northwest. Their recent trips to showcase at the Western Arts Alliance conference in Las Vegas (August\, 2018) and Performing Arts Exchange in Orlando (October\, 2018) have already garnered interest across the US. \nThe band has two full length recordings to their credit. Their self-titled debut album (2013) has garnered radio airplay across Canada\, and their second album Rove and Go (2016) has become even more widespread\, being added at over 30 stations across Canada and tracking at #65 on CKUA’s top-played albums for 2016.
