DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, 19 September 2021 3:00 PM\nSeminole Theatre\n18 N. Krome Avenue\, Homestead\, FL\, US\n\n \nLa Zarzuela\, Inc. presents Luisa Fernanda\, a Spanish romantic zarzuela in three acts by Federico Moreno Torroba. The characters move between comedy and revolutionary politics featuring the simplicity of the Spanish countryside and the contrasting sophisticated class in Madrid of the nineteenth century on the verge of a revolutionary change of its political landscape. The libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández Shaw could be described as a romantic comedy with a near-tragic touch of melancholy. A masterpiece of its own kind. \nLuisa Fernanda\, a young girl living in 1868 during Queen Isabel II regime\, is in love with Javier\, a colonel in the royal hussars. She is also courted by the rich landowner Vidal Hernando. Javier’s nonchalant attitude towards Luisa and his flirting with Duchess Carolina leave the door open to Vidal Hernando in Luisa Fernanda’s heart.
