Join us for our very first Oktoberfest celebration at the Historic Seminole Theatre. What can you expect from Oktoberfest? Traditional German Food and Beer will accompany our full bar at the theater, as we celebrate German culture, art and games. You can certainly count on some drinking songs to join in on! The event is highlighted by German vocal supergroup Vocaldente, going on stage at 8:00pm.

Vocaldente is a German, a capella quintet that excites their audiences with purely vocal experiences unaided, unamplified and unadulterated.Their music spans nearly every decade from the Charleston of the Golden Twenties to German Schlager to 50’s Rock’ n’ Roll to 70’s disco to the present day.At times furiously fast-paced, sentimentally romantic, abysmally comical, or profoundly demanding, their performances combine perfect technical skill with original arrangements, moderations, and choreographies. The quintet is the winner of many national and international vocal and A Cappella awards, including the International Contemporary A Cappella Competition in Taipei and the Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival in San Francisco.Their current program is called “Life is a highway,” based on the title of a Tom Cochrane song, which is currently featured in the concert program. The title also describes the path of a career and the turbulent life of those, who, like musicians, spend much of their lives in airplanes, trains, cars, and tour buses.Vocaldente is composed of Tobias Kiel and Jakob Buch (Tenor), Benjamin Boresch (Countertenor), Alexander Nolte (Baritone) and Tobias Pasternack (bass)

Upholding the classic Nashville standards of earlier generations, singer/songwriter Lee Ann Womack became one of the breakout contemporary country stars of 1997 with her eponymous debut album, which reached the Top Ten on the country chart. The massively popular I Hope You Dance followed in mid-2000. Something Worth Leaving Behindappeared in mid-2002, and it was a sure fit for Womack to move into the country mainstream for good. Womack’s latest album The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone was released in October of 2017.

Artists don’t really make albums like Lee Ann Womack’s The Lonely, The Lonesome & The Gone anymore. Albums that seem to exist separate and apart from any external pressures. Albums that possess both a profound sense of history and a clear-eyed vision for the future. Albums that transcend genres while embracing their roots. Albums that evoke a sense of place and of personality so vivid they make listeners feel more like participants in the songs than simply admirers of them.

Praised by anyone from The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, New Yorker and more, Lee Ann has sung for multiple Presidents, performed award-winning duets with everyone from Willie Nelson and John Prine to John Legend, and much more. Lee Ann has built a career on songs that slice life wide open to let the pain and desire pour out; her music is the ultimate form of connection, unvarnished and true. With six albums and international chart-topping singles to her credit, Lee Ann has earned six Country Music Association Awards (including Single and Album of the Year), five Academy of Country Music Awards, a Grammy, and much more.

New Orleans native, Andrew Duhon, is a writer with an undeniable voice, weighted and soulful. His 2014 release, ‘The Moorings’, was nominated for a Grammy for ‘Best Engineered Album’, and now Duhon’s new record, False River, was produced by Eric Masse and will be released in May 2018.
