Alouettes Academy of the Arts presents Matilda The Musical JR., based on the beloved book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl and adapted from the award-winning full-length musical, Roald Dahl’s Matilda The Musical JR. tells the story of an extraordinary girl who, armed with a vivid imagination and a sharp mind, dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
Matilda, a little girl with astonishing wit, intelligence and psychokinetic powers, lives with cruel parents who find her to be a nuisance, a lousy little worm, and a bore. When Matilda enters her first term at school, she captures the attention of Miss Honey, a kind teacher, and the two form a wonderful friendship. Unfortunately, the school is ruled by a tempestuous and mean headmistress named Miss Trunchbull, who hates children and delivers cruel and unjust punishments to all her charges. Matilda is determined to change her story, but will her cleverness and courage be enough to withstand the reign of Miss Trunchbull?

You will be taken on a journey with dances that make you want to get up and party, to dances that strike your emotions and everything in between. Our dancers and teachers have been pouring out their hearts for this show, and we are thrilled to step on the stage for families to enjoy this experience with us. There is no place like “home”. When Stars Align is directed by Amber Bryan, the Artistic Director of True Movement Dance Studio.
True Movement was founded and created “brick by brick” with passion & love. We aim to provide a healthy dance environment for every dancer to soar past their potential, with correct and precise dance training. Offering professional training, in a supportive environment to hone the craft, dedication, kindness and respect of our dancers. It is our goal to give our True Movement family the best training, choreography, and leadership that will mold them throughout their life.

Artistic director of Ballet & Beyond, Karen Hirst Kennedy presents “Sleeping Beauty”. A ballet for all ages, about a beautiful princess named Aurora, who is cursed to slumber for 100 years by a prick of her finger on her 16th birthday by the malevolent Fairy Carabosse who was not invited to Aurora’s christening when she was a baby. Doomed by fate, only the sweet kiss of a Prince can awaken the sleeping beauty.
This full length short story ballet will delight children and adults alike, choreographed by Karen Hirst Kennedy and danced by the professionally trained Ballet & Beyond dancers.
