It's been proven that our community wants... community theater!  Whether it was for the Rocky Horror Show in 2016, the recent performance of the Gospel of Mark, or the record setting summer musical Hairspray, audiences have raved about seeing theater at the Seminole Theatre.

The Seminole Theatre Players is the new theater group that has been borne out of community involvement.  We are searching for more members who are interested in participating with the Seminole Theatre Players, and are hosting an Open House Meeting to discuss the future of the organization.  Two dates are scheduled: Tuesday, Nov 14 and Thursday, Nov 16, both at 7:00pm.

RSVP

We are searching for the following types of people:

- Performers: Actors, Dancers & Singers

- Staff: Directors, Music Directors, Choreographers, Designers, Teachers

- Backstage: Costumes, Makeup, Set Building, Painting, Stage Management, Tech and more

- Administrative: Grants, Marketing, Finance, Management

- Anything else - if your question is "Could you use someone who..." the answer is YES

No prior experience is necessary to join the Players.  Whether you have been doing theater all your life or just thinking about giving it a shot, we would like to see you at one of our open houses.

We will be discussing plans for this season, long term goals,  taking suggestions for future shows and activities, and hopefully recruiting an Executive Board to help lead the organization.

At The Theatre

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
