Here is a chance to get behind the scenes and see the action of film-in-the-making!

What if Works Inc. is proud to announce its’ first “Emerging Movie-Maker Showcase” at the historic Seminole Theatre!  Through the generous support of Homestead Center for the Arts and in association with Homestead’s newly established recording studio, Ear Responsible Studio sixteen dynamic youths from Miami Bridge Youth and Family Services, Branches and the Migrant Farm Workers Association will share their processes and showcase original “Indie Film Finals”. Under the guidance of theatre graduates from Florida International University participants learned the art of storyboarding while everyone experienced the rush of the “on camera” screen test. Throughout the workshop, all participants served as actors, directors, screenwriters, editors, and producers. The audience will get to go behind the scenes while watching the results of the month-long workshop.

Come and show your support for these future movie makers of America as they share their work and passion with the community of South Dade and Homestead. Maybe one day you will look up at the screen in your local movie theatre and say, “Hey, wait a minute, didn’t I once see…!?”

At The Theatre

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
