Enjoy an unbelievable evening celebrating great ladies of song from Diana Ross, Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and the one and only Whitney Houston.  From sound stages or concert halls across the country and around the world, she’s got them standing in the aisles. Bring your own great lady to the show and celebrate Mother's Day in style.

Lakisha Jones was a single mother and bank employee originally from Flint, Michigan who always dreamed of making it big in the music business, and she had the pipes to do just that!

A top 4 finalist of the 2007 season of “American Idol,” LaKisha Jones is ready to reclaim center stage in music, theatre and television. Her last album, “So Glad I’m Me” was full of Jones’ expressive, full-bodied and arresting vocals, the same voice that electrified “American Idol” viewers with the “Dream Girls” showstopper “And I Am Telling You” and later the Broadway stage in the Oprah Winfrey produced, Tony Award-winning musical, “The Color Purple.” Following her Broadway stint, Jones provided vocal coaching on MTV’s reality competition “Legally Blonde: The Search for Elle Woods,” a show designed to find and hone Broadway’s next star.

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
