Want to help out with Homestead's biggest event, just not on the stage?  Here's how you can be a part of Hairspray, and maybe even score some tickets!  Whether it's volunteering time, items or money (we like money), there are lots of ways you can contribute.

We have the cast, but what about everyone else?  We need volunteers who are willing to take up these positions:

UPDATE: Sign up for our Volunteer Scene Shop Clean Out Day!  July 9th - 11am-6pm.  We need volunteers willing to help us clean out the old theater shed and create a shop for scenery, props, costume storage and more.  Anyone who can give two hours' time gets 2 free tickets to the show!  Show up at the loading dock at 25 W Mowry Drive on July 9th and/or sign up for our Facebook event HERE

HAIRSPRAY is set in 1960s Baltimore, so we need some help finding items to make our show seem realistic.  If you have one of these items and are able to donate or lend to us for the show, we will gladly give you 2 tickets to see it on stage!

As part of our commitment to the community, we have four daytime performances that will be performed FREE for local groups on weekdays.  Priority is given to groups within Homestead and serving at-need persons.  The following performances are available for booking.

-Friday, August 4th at 10am (Invited Dress Rehearsal)

-Wednesday, August 9th - 10am/11am start time TBD

-Thursday, August 10th - 10am/11am start time TBD

-Friday, August 11th - 10am/11am start time TBD

Our History

The Theatre originally opened on November 26, 1921 as a cinema, primarily showing the then popular silent movies. The Seminole Theatre quickly became the place to go for entertainment and social gatherings in South Dade County and the upper Keys.
